About Me
After earning my bachelors in English and spending 15 years in a cubicle editing and writing, I decided to change direction in 2010 and returned to school to earn my Landscape Design degree from Anne Arundel Community College. Since then, I have added to my knowledge base by earning a Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional Level 2 certification, and I regularly attend conferences and trainings to stay current on the latest research, technology, and on-site observations. Over the last 15 years, I have worked in many types of spaces from residential to commercial to community and at all different scales from small foundation plantings to community master plans.
Design Philosophy
I am focused on creating landscapes that are not only beautiful and dynamic, but also practical and sustainable. My design approach brings together aesthetics, site conditions, environmental concerns, practical considerations, and client needs to help my clients realize their vision for a beautiful outdoor experience.
Services
I offer many services, including on-site consultations, scaled landscape designs, 3D renderings, and installation management. I am also certified in stormwater BMP design, inspection, and troubleshooting.
Outreach
I value being able to share my profession with others. I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring many, from middle school students to college students to HOA boards. I welcome opportunities to help others understand landscape design, native plant design, and much more.
